The Voyage East

The Cold and Wet
The Hardship
Ged and Vetch sailed through foul weather, with little food and water. They had to rely on spells for fresh water, but even those were weakening. The cold and wet wore them down.
The Waning of Power
As they went farther from land, Vetch felt his power diminish. Ged's magewind was the only thing that drove them, but it required constant effort.
The Drying of the Sea

The Unnatural Calm
The Sand Beneath
Suddenly, the sea grew sluggish and turned to sand. The boat grounded on a dry land. This was the boundary of the world, the Dry Land where the dead go.
The Terror of the Unknown
Vetch was terrified, but Ged pressed on. The environment was unnatural, and their magic was nearly useless. This was the ultimate test of their courage.
The Return Journey

The Struggle Back
The Long Voyage
After the integration, Ged and Vetch sailed back to the East Reach. They had little food, and they had to fish with spells that barely worked. The journey took sixteen days.
The Reaching of Land
Finally, they sighted the cliffs of Koppish and then Iffish. They were exhausted but alive. The struggle for survival was over, and they had won.
