The Chicago Meeting

The Blizzard Night The First Encounter Sienna attends a lecture by Zobrist in Chicago. After the talk, they go to a bar and then to his hotel room. She loses her virginity to him, beginning a passionate relationship. The Transformation Zobrist becomes her mentor and lover. She adopts his Transhumanist views and becomes his disciple. Their bond is intense. The Aftermath Sienna joins Zobrist's circle, learning about genetic engineering and population control. She is deeply in love with him.

The Separation

Zobrist's Disappearance The Farewell Letter Zobrist goes into hiding with the Consortium. He sends Sienna a letter saying he is ill and does not want her to see him deteriorate. He breaks off contact. The Search Sienna is devastated. She tries to find him through the Consortium, but the Provost refuses to help. She becomes obsessed with locating him. The Witness to Suicide Sienna eventually tracks him to Florence, but arrives just in time to see him jump from the Badia tower. She is traumatized by his death.
