The Legendary Beast Tumnus's News Tumnus, now middle-aged, reports that the White Stag has appeared in the Western Woods. The White Stag is said to grant wishes if caught. The four monarchs decide to hunt it. The Chase They ride deep into the forest. The stag leads them through thick underbrush. Eventually, only the four are still following. They dismount and enter a thicket on foot. The Recognition of the Lamp-Post They come to a lamp-post, which they recognize from their first entry. They realize they are near the wardrobe. They push through the trees and find themselves tumbling out of the wardrobe in the professor's house. Their adventure ends as it began.
