The Muster at Edoras

The Muster at Edoras The King's Decision Théoden, healed by Gandalf, decides to ride to Gondor's aid. He summons the Rohirrim to muster at Edoras. The Gathering of the Riders Riders from all over Rohan gather. Éomer is appointed as the leader of the first éored. The army prepares for the long ride. The Departure The army leaves Edoras, heading south through the paths of the White Mountains. They are guided by the Wild Men of the Drúadan Forest.

The Ride Through the Stonewain Valley The Guidance of Ghân-buri-Ghân The Wild Man Ghân-buri-Ghân leads the Rohirrim through a secret path to avoid the enemy armies. They travel through the Stonewain Valley. The Crossing of the Morthond They cross the river Morthond and continue east. The army is large but moves swiftly. The Approach to Minas Tirith As they near the Pelennor, they see the fires of the siege. Théoden gives a rousing speech, and the horns of Rohan sound.

The Charge at the Pelennor The Dawn Charge As the sun rises, the Rohirrim charge into the enemy lines. Théoden leads the charge, killing the chieftain of the Haradrim. The Fall of Théoden Théoden is killed by the Witch-king, but his sacrifice inspires his men. Éomer takes command and leads the Riders. The Victory With Aragorn's arrival, the Pelennor is won. The Rohirrim play a crucial role in the battle, and Éomer becomes king.
