Grandview Hospital
After We CollidedGrandview Hospital becomes the place where the consequences of Hardin Scott’s attack on Zed are confronted directly. Tessa Young goes there hoping to persuade Zed not to press charges, turning a visit to an injured friend into an appeal shaped by her continuing ties to both men.
Setting and Arrival
Landon tells Tessa that Zed is at Grandview Hospital. At the nurse’s station, a staff member initially refuses to confirm whether he is there. Tessa says she is Zed’s girlfriend and needs to see him; after the staff member questions that claim, she gives Tessa directions down the hall to his room.
Zed’s Room and Tessa’s Request
Tessa finds Zed sitting on the edge of a hospital bed. His injuries show the immediate physical consequences of Hardin’s attack; Zed also explains that his broken nose had to be set. Tessa asks whether he intends to press charges. When he says that he does, she pleads with him not to, promising that Hardin will not trouble him again if he agrees.
Aftermath and Significance
Zed eventually agrees not to press charges, but his concession comes with a pointed request that Tessa consider how much easier her life might be without Hardin. He stresses that he was attacked without cause and that Tessa is once again left trying to clean up the consequences. Tessa recognizes that she is appealing to Zed’s feelings for her to influence his decision. The hospital scene therefore offers a limited resolution to the immediate legal threat, while exposing the personal cost of Hardin’s violence and the burden Tessa assumes in its aftermath.
