Sacred Refuge

A City under a Saint
The Theocracy survives beneath the Saint Citri statue, whose presence suppresses demonspawn activity and gives the refugee settlement a fragile sense of protection.
Hidden Strength
Nearly every resident is Awakened, a condition unlike the surrounding nations. The city’s religious culture is therefore also a technological and biological mystery.
Resistance Government
Lita and the Reclaimers preserve a military chain of command after Hugo Fitz destroys the old state. Faith and insurgency become inseparable.
Holy City Assault

The Coalition Offensive
Imperial troops, Paladins, and Templars attack the Holy City through sewer routes and hidden corridors. The plan depends on surprise, local knowledge, and a rapid decapitation strike.
War of Attrition
Roland air support arrives and demonspawn pour from the Green Bishop’s laboratories. The operation becomes a battle for the city rather than a surgical mission.
Jack’s Breach
Jack destroys the choir barrier and enters the facility alone. His personal assault finally reaches Hugo Fitz but leaves the city devastated.
Green Bishop’s Defeat

The Children’s Prison
Jack discovers children wired into the Green Bishop’s choir and uses their stolen souls to power a barrier. The revelation turns a military target into a moral nightmare.
Hugo Captured
Jack defeats Hugo Fitz but refuses to kill him immediately. The prisoner may reveal Jill’s location and the High Table’s larger purpose.
Mercy as Judgment
Jack later kills the damaged children to end their suffering. The act is presented as mercy but exposes how far the war has pushed his ethics.
Refugee Relocation

The Flying City Question
Lita wants to keep the Theocracy’s flying fortress, while Selfia wants its technology and strategic value. Jack rejects the choice between confiscation and abandonment.
Asylum Proposal
He offers the survivors a sovereign refuge in Imperial territory. The proposal is coercive, but it prevents their extinction and gives the coalition a new ally.
Hoshido Settlement
The Theocracy’s people eventually move toward the New Frontier and share its resources. Their survival becomes part of Jack’s alternative to imperial conquest.
Frontier Federation

A New Country
The Paladins and Hoshido establish Jacksonville as a sovereign frontier state. The former Theocracy becomes a civic foundation rather than a failed holy nation.
Shared Government
Lita leads the Frontier while Kenichi and tribal chiefs participate in a council. The arrangement remains uneasy but distributes authority among groups that once distrusted one another.
Historical Reconciliation
The new state preserves the memory of the Theocracy without restoring its old hierarchy. Survival becomes a political practice rather than a miracle attributed to a single saint.
