Fireteam Majestic
Awakening the Angel System: Apocalypse: A LitRPG Progression FantasyFireteam Majestic is the task force led by Jack for operations whose political and military stakes exceed what an ordinary unit can accomplish. Its defining mission is an assault on the Theocracy’s capital: Majestic must join forces with the Reclaimers, infiltrate a hidden facility controlled by the Green Bishop, and remove the de facto head of the monster-infested state so that Lord-Commander Lita von Strongarm and her faction can reconstruct its government. The team therefore operates at the intersection of commando warfare, regime change, and uneasy coalition-building.
Mission and Command Structure
Fireteam Majestic’s principal objective is not a conventional battle for territory. The unit is assigned to link up with the Reclaimers, a military faction composed of partisans, rebels, and paladins, before planning a decapitation strike against the Green Bishop’s concealed facility. The target is identified as both a High Table member and the man who created Lilith, making the operation an attempt to sever the leadership of the Theocracy rather than merely defeat its troops. Because the papal nation’s capital is heavily fortified, the operation would be suicidal even with a full army behind Jack; cooperation with the Reclaimers is consequently a strategic necessity rather than a gesture of goodwill.
Jack’s command style combines urgency with explicit restraint. After Majestic enters the sewer environment alongside Templars, he uses the team’s com-link to synchronize his troops and orders them to help the civilians rather than worsen their condition. He demands minimum structural damage where possible and forbids civilian casualties, requiring every soldier to watch their shots. The green acknowledgment signals appearing on his HUD turn that moral instruction into a coordinated operational rule: the unit’s cohesion is expressed through shared compliance as much as through firepower.
Personnel and Equipment
The team includes the Damocles, a GEN-5 MECHFrame equipped with white reactive camouflage, and its pilot, Tangerine. The presence of a specialized mechanized platform gives Majestic a capability beyond that of a small infantry detachment, while the camouflage indicates preparation for movement and combat in exposed or hostile terrain. Tangerine has mellowed since Jack last encountered him but has not forgiven Jack, a tension that remains subordinate to the mission. Majestic thus contains personal hostility without pretending that it has disappeared.
A field regrouping gives the unit a concrete scale: eleven personnel are accounted for at RV Fox, where the force pauses to eat before continuing toward RV Delta. Jessica is stirring the stew while Jack surveys the blonde women under his command, and he orders the group packed and moving within five minutes because the timetable is already slipping. The scene places advanced machinery, holographic mapping, and ordinary field maintenance in the same chain of action. Majestic is not only a symbol of elite warfare; it is also a small body that must eat, march, count its members, and keep to a schedule.
Python’s presence adds another layer to the unit’s internal structure. During transport, he moves to sit beside Jack and quietly asks whether Jack is all right. Jack answers that he is focusing on the mission, while several commandos turn their helmets slightly toward him. Their attention suggests that the commander’s condition is itself a matter of operational concern, even when no formal challenge is made. Majestic’s discipline therefore includes watchfulness among its members, not merely obedience to orders.
Coalition Warfare and Internal Tension
Majestic’s alliance with the Templars is born from necessity. The Templars were once Jack’s enemies, but the threat posed by the High Table brings the former opponents into the same operation. Even after they become allies, the forces separate themselves physically: Jack’s Imperial commandos occupy the left side of the formation, while the Templar soldiers remain on the right. The tension is palpable in the sewer air, revealing that political alignment does not automatically erase memory, distrust, or competing loyalties.
The unit’s intended partnership with the Reclaimers extends this pattern of provisional cooperation. The plan depends on Lita von Strongarm’s faction not only to assist the infiltration but to replace what remains of the Theocracy’s government after the Green Bishop is removed. Majestic is therefore expected to create the opening through which another force can assume political responsibility. Its military role cannot be separated from the constitutional consequences of its success: the team’s assault is designed to transfer power, not simply to produce a battlefield victory.
Discipline, Material Security, and the State
The wider circumstances surrounding Majestic show how thoroughly its operations are embedded in systems of surveillance and controlled movement. Jack’s public life is organized through an Intellipad displaying instructions and prompts for appearances, announcements, institutional openings, commercial meetings, and the presentation of an heir. Yet the security regime also distrusts such devices: paper folders are treated as safer because tablets can be hacked and Intellipads compromised. Information security consequently shapes even family and administrative conversations, making documents, screens, and physical concealment part of the political environment in which Majestic functions.
The same fusion of protection and confinement appears in Jack’s transportation. He travels in a specially crafted black armored limousine made from Armytheum, designed to cancel mana attacks and protected by reactive armor over a carbon-fiber titanium-alloy shell. The vehicle is too heavy for a MECHFrame to lift and is said to stop anything short of an Anti-Army skill. Such material arrangements enlarge the scale of Majestic’s authority while also emphasizing that its commander is never simply moving through public space; he is carried inside a hardened apparatus of state power.
Narrative Significance
Fireteam Majestic gives the book a practical form for its recurring conflict between overwhelming force and the consequences of using it. Jack understands that the larger the splash he makes, the farther the impact will ripple, and he treats the day’s agenda as an effort to cause such ripples. In the field, however, he places a limit on the ripple: the team must help the people it encounters, preserve structures when possible, and avoid civilian deaths. The contrast makes Majestic an instrument of controlled political violence, not an unrestrained engine of destruction.
The unit also reflects Jack’s altered relationship to power. He remembers a former life of public transit and walking everywhere; now he has security, a chauffeur, a child, and access to scattered last wills and testaments belonging to Yun, Tyrah, and Jena Leslie. Despite this transformation, he feels hollow, with Lilith’s tampering offered as a possible cause, while guilt, remorse, and the dread that once accompanied his movements have receded. His eagerness to act makes Majestic both an extension of his authority and a measure of his emotional displacement. The team moves forward because the mission comes first, even as the commander’s inner reasons for pursuing it become increasingly difficult to separate from the machinery of command.
