An Uncertain New Ship

Built for an Unclear Role
An Unusual Refit
TNV Blackwater combines cruiser weapons with the ability to carry Panzerters. Henri Marcell knows its armament is formidable, but its intended role remains difficult to summarize or fit into established categories.
Command and Logistics
Marcell’s first work is mundane: collecting pilots, arranging provisions, and resolving docking problems. The ship’s effectiveness depends as much on its crew and supplies as on its guns.
A Refuge on the Move

Sheltering Civilians
A Choice to Embark Refugees
As families crowd the docks, Blackwater takes aboard civilians despite the ship’s limited capacity and uncertain future. Marcell also pressures a passenger liner to accept evacuees under the maritime code.
Retreat into Concealment
With the battle turning against the defenders, the ship leads refugees into the shoal zone. This protects them from immediate attack but creates an urgent problem of food, water, communications, and ammunition.
A Lifeline of Supplies

Keeping People Alive
Relief Runs
Roland delivers food and medical supplies between passenger vessels, meeting children and families who have nowhere else to go. Each short run makes the war’s civilian consequences more visible to him and to the crew.
The Supply Drone Gamble
The possibility of commandeering a large logistics drone promises relief for many people, but the attempt attracts Union fighters. The operation demonstrates how survival logistics can become a battlefield mission.
