A Force in Hiding

The Shoal Zone Refuge Shelter and Risk Marcell leads Blackwater, warships, patrol craft, and civilian vessels into the shoal zone. Its dust and wreckage provide concealment, but the same hazards make movement and communication difficult. A Force Without Reserves The surviving squadron lacks pilots, maintainers, fuel, and reliable access to the wider fleet. Its survival depends on using local knowledge and resisting the temptation to fight the Union in open space.

The Mines and the Decoy

The combination aims to make the Union doubt both its information and the safety of its route. The Enemy Is Forced to Choose Union ships slow down to clear the mines and expend resources responding to uncertain threats. Marcell does not need to defeat them yet; he needs to keep them from concentrating their power on the hidden defenders.

The Breach and the Reinforcement

A Dangerous Counterattack Missiles and Close Combat Blackwater launches a broad missile attack and then moves its ships into close engagements, where Union capital weapons have less room to operate. The maneuver risks the entire force but offers a better chance than waiting in the open. A Larger Fleet Arrives Tharcian reinforcements emerge from the shoal zone and attack the Union ships. Danubia’s arrival breaks the enemy’s pressure and forces a withdrawal, relieving the isolated squadron without erasing the cost of the fight.
