The Stranded Pilot

A Pilot in Need A Damaged Machine Roland Horn encounters Duncan Glenn in a badly crippled Panzerter while attacking the Union reconnaissance cruiser. Duncan is in danger of drifting toward atmospheric reentry, and Roland risks his mission to help him. An Unlikely Wingman Duncan proves useful even in damaged circumstances and brings an irreverent humor to the partnership. His rescue establishes a bond that becomes important as the Blackwater’s small air wing takes shape.

The FrankenPanzerter

Courage in a Hybrid Machine A Makeshift Repair Maintainers combine parts to create the Panzerter 3.5 from Duncan’s damaged machine. Its awkward construction reflects the shortage of equipment and personnel facing the defenders. A Risky Escort Duncan flies alongside Roland to help the civilian fleet escape. He is repeatedly exposed to enemy attack, yet returns to the mission rather than withdrawing from the people who need protection.

A Mission Beyond Survival

Reassigned for Purpose The Cost of Repeated Losses Duncan’s record of returning damaged becomes a source of teasing, but his survival also means the ship has another pilot when it can scarcely spare one. His experience demonstrates persistence, not invulnerability. A Specialized Role Marcell assigns him a Jagdpanzerter designed for attacking ships. Duncan’s next role grows out of the hard lessons of his earlier sorties and the force’s need to make every survivor useful.
