Wochenende

Box Set: Samsons Sterbliche Geliebte & Samson's Lovely Mortal (Deutsch·Englisch) (Scanguards Vampire) (German Edition)

Wochenende is the weekend as a point of contrast between Delilah’s demanding audit schedule and the ordinary expectation of time off. In the novel, its arrival offers her the possibility of working longer, even as it gives others reason not to rise early.

Work and Chronology

Delilah considers working through the weekend so she can finish her assignment in a few days and leave. The weekend therefore extends her available work time rather than automatically marking a pause: her departure depends on completing the audit, not simply on the end of the working week.

The Late-Night Scene

After a long stretch of work, Delilah is surprised that Samson and Amaury have not tired. She recalls that Samson had barely slept the previous night and had spent the day in meetings, but tells herself his sleep is not her concern. The approaching weekend means no one has to get up early; then she suppresses a yawn, checks the clock, and discovers that it is already past six in the morning. The reference makes the weekend a practical marker of the hour and of the unusual length of the night.
