The Underground Captivity
A rescue in Fujisawa
Tangerine and Lemon find Little Minegishi tied up in an underground room and carry out the rescue. He is exhausted and shaken, but the operation appears to have succeeded.
Minegishi’s instructions demand his son, the ransom money, and the death of those responsible. The order creates multiple obligations that will become harder to satisfy once the train leaves.
The Son Dies in Transit

The Son Dies in Transit
Success becomes failure
Little Minegishi dies beside Tangerine and Lemon, who initially find no visible wound. They had rescued him from kidnappers, but cannot explain his death or restore him to his father.
The unexplained death transforms the mission into a crisis of reporting and survival. The suitcase disappears at the same time, leaving the partners without either of the outcomes Minegishi expected.
A False Report at Omiya

A False Report at Omiya
Concealment under inspection
Tangerine tells Minegishi’s waiting subordinate that the boy is asleep. Lemon’s attempt to wave the corpse’s hand exposes the unnatural scene, and the man begins reporting his suspicions.
The deception buys little time. It makes the situation more dangerous by encouraging Minegishi to assemble people and personally demand an explanation.
