Hyperboreans

The Hyperboreans are a northern people of the Hyborian Age, dwelling in the bleak, far-reaching land of Hyperborea, which lies east of Asgard. They are described as a tall, lean, light-haired folk, dangerous foes reputed to be wizards and sorcerers. Their homeland, a region of sparse soil and dwarfed trees, stands in stark contrast to the gleaming kingdoms of the south, and their reputation for arcane knowledge marks them as a people apart even among the hardy northern races. Throughout Conan's saga, the Hyperboreans appear in shifting roles—as fellow slaves bound to the Wheel of Pain, as a formidable opponent in the Pit, and as victims of the dark cults that plague the world.
