Ånge near Sundsvall
Crow GirlÅnge near Sundsvall enters the investigation as the supposed site of a cottage used to record one of the films linked to Karl Lundström. The lead initially appears to connect the cottage to Anders Wikström, but a second Ånge and conflicting information about Wikström make the location a source of uncertainty rather than a confirmed crime-scene address.
Setting and the Cottage Lead
When the investigators revisit names that have surfaced in the case, Jens Hurtig recalls that Karl Lundström had mentioned Anders Wikström and a cottage in Ånge. Lundström had said one of the films on his computer was recorded there, explaining that Wikström lived in the area. In the account, Ånge is specified as being outside Sundsvall, distinguishing this location from the other place of the same name that later complicates the inquiry.
Investigation and Contradictory Information
The apparent connection does not hold up cleanly. Jeanette Kihlberg reports that Anders Wikström does not own a cottage in Ånge near Sundsvall. There is, however, an Anders Wikström: he was reported missing in Thailand six months earlier. Hurtig wonders whether Lundström confused the man in the film with someone else associated with a cottage, so the lead does not establish that the missing Wikström owned the property or that the film was made there.
The Two Ånges and the Unresolved Clue
Hurtig later clarifies the geographic problem: Lundström had said the film was made at Wikström’s cottage in Ånge outside Sundsvall, but there is evidently another Ånge in Lapland. The distinction leaves open whether the original account conflated a person, a cottage, or the two locations; the evidence does not settle which Ånge was meant. In the same investigative exchange, Jeanette recognizes the curtains in a photograph found at Viggo Dürer’s home and draws attention to the window behind him. The recognition returns the inquiry to a visual clue, but the available account does not confirm that the photograph depicts the cottage near Sundsvall. Ånge near Sundsvall therefore functions as a disputed geographic lead, not a verified filming site.
