A Hidden Route

A Hidden Route
Avoiding the roads
Tiuri travels through the forest rather than using the safer, faster road. Hunger, exhaustion, and the danger of getting lost make every mile costly.
Help along the way
Marius gives him food and directions without betraying his secret. The encounter shows that kindness can emerge in places Tiuri expects only danger.
The River Path

The River Path
Finding the Blue River
Tiuri reaches the Blue River and learns that its source lies in the mountains. The route now has a clear geographical direction, but the journey remains long and exposed.
Allies on the road
Monks at the Abbey of Brown shelter him, and later Ristridin’s company offers protection. Each stage brings him closer to the mountains and deeper into the political crisis.
The Mountain Crossing

The Mountain Crossing
A guide for the heights
Menaures appoints Piak to guide Tiuri over hidden paths. Their route avoids the ordinary road, but its cliffs and weather demand trust in Piak’s knowledge.
Snow and endurance
A blizzard near the Seven Rocks forces them to shelter overnight. They continue through ice and dangerous slopes, reaching the western side through persistence rather than speed.
The Western Capital

The Western Capital
Reaching the goal
After crossing the mountains and traveling through Unauwen, Tiuri reaches the capital with Piak. The bright, open city contrasts with the dangers of the road behind them.
A mission completed
