Booklist

Booklist is identified in Jonathan Janz’s author biography as a publication that recognized his work, most notably through a starred review of Children of the Dark and its board’s selection of the novel among the year’s Top Ten Horror Books. The account presents Booklist as both a source of critical praise and a venue for a distinction that singled out one of Janz’s novels.

Recognition of Jonathan Janz

The biography groups Booklist with Publishers Weekly and Library Journal as publications that had praised Janz’s work. It does not specify which titles prompted those broader mentions, so Booklist’s general recognition is presented without a detailed review history.

Children of the Dark

The account gives a specific instance of that recognition: Children of the Dark received a starred review in Booklist. The publication’s board also chose the novel as one of its Top Ten Horror Books for the period from September 2015 through August 2016, connecting the review to a separate year-spanning selection.
