Daemon's relationship with Mysaria
Fire & BloodDaemon's relationship with Mysaria joined intimacy to political usefulness. At court he visited her each evening, and accounts say they shared a bed; during the Dance, Daemon also relied on a trusted go-between with deep knowledge of King's Landing's underworld to set a secret act of vengeance in motion. The chronicles leave the intermediary unnamed, but together these accounts place Mysaria close to Daemon both personally and within the city's network of secrets.
Trust and the City's Hidden Networks
In his youth, Daemon had been known throughout Flea Bottom as the Prince of the City, with friends among its cutpurses, brothel keepers, and gamblers. During the war, he still had followers among the gold cloaks and allies even within the opposing green council. He secretly reached out to a pale stranger who knew the city's wine sinks and rat pits and could move through its shadows, entrusting this intermediary with a plan for vengeance. That account does not name the stranger; it shows the kind of covert access and confidence on which Daemon relied.
Mysaria at Court
After Rhaenyra's return to King's Landing, Mysaria came out of the shadows and took up residence in the Red Keep. Though she held no formal seat on the queen's small council, she effectively became mistress of whisperers, with informants in brothels, alehouses, and pot shops, as well as among the powerful. Her position gave the relationship a political dimension: Mysaria's reach through the city complemented Daemon's own established ties there.
Intimacy and Public Tolerance
The chronicles describe Daemon as remaining devoted to Mysaria and visiting her each evening. Septon Eustace also records that Daemon often shared her bed while at court, reportedly with Rhaenyra's blessing. The account places this intimacy within the queen's household rather than presenting it as a concealed breach of court life; the relationship continued openly enough for the chronicles to remark on it.
