An Unusual Fellowship

A Club Takes Shape
Shared curiosity
Captain Powers’s shop brings together St. Ives, Keeble, Godall, Jack, and others to discuss the mysteries surrounding Drake and Narbondo. Their club is informal, but its members have overlapping reasons to investigate.
Different strengths
The group combines scientific knowledge, practical craft, local intelligence, and personal loyalties. Their eccentricity becomes an advantage when formal authorities are either absent or interested in the wrong things.
Villains Converge

Separate Schemes, Shared Threat
A widening danger
The club learns that Drake is connected to Narbondo, while Shiloh pursues his own apocalyptic plans. Meanwhile, Kraken disappears with a box, and the true aims of each villain remain only partly clear.
Cooperation becomes essential
The members realize that separate investigations leave them vulnerable to being outmaneuvered. Godall argues for collective action, a principle that shapes their later plans for the laboratory and Drake’s house.
A Divided Final Operation

Coordinated Action
Different assignments
The club divides its efforts: some enter Drake’s house to rescue Dorothy, while others confront Shiloh or prepare to reach the Heath. Captain Powers coordinates the plan and insists that the returning dirigible cannot be neglected.
Partial victory
The operation secures Dorothy and brings the rival boxes into the open, though the Homunculus and Birdlip ultimately depart beyond their control. The club succeeds by protecting its people, not by owning every wonder it pursued.
