Shen Tang and Xie Xuan

I’m Very Happy After Marrying the CEO Husband According to the Agreement

Shen Tang and Xie Xuan are connected by a relationship that shifts abruptly from casual acquaintance to conspicuous, one-sided attachment. Xie Xuan first approaches Shen Tang while distressed over Gu Huaian, then declares that she will stop liking him and like Shen Tang instead. The change is comic in its speed, but it also creates a new emotional alliance around Shen Tang: Xie Xuan treats her as a trusted older sister, while Shen Tang finds the younger woman’s vulnerability difficult to resist.

The Reversal from Gu Huaian to Shen Tang

Xie Xuan’s attachment to Shen Tang is born from a quarrel with Gu Huaian. After crying that Shen Tang also must think Gu Huaian was being excessive, Xie Xuan immediately reverses her position and announces that she will like Shen Tang from then on. The declaration strikes Shen Tang with such force that she wonders whether she has heard correctly and asks Xie Xuan to confirm that she likes her. The scene establishes the relationship’s defining imbalance: Xie Xuan expresses affection with startling directness, while Shen Tang is left to absorb, interpret, and manage it.

The reversal also changes Xie Xuan’s manner of address. Once she decides not to like Gu Huaian anymore and to like Shen Tang instead, she begins calling Shen Tang “Sister Tang.” The new title makes the attachment sound familial and affectionate rather than conventionally romantic, but it does not make Xie Xuan’s behavior less intense. Her emotional loyalty is redirected wholesale, and Shen Tang becomes the person she seeks out for reassurance, companionship, and approval.

Clinginess, Tears, and Physical Affection

Xie Xuan does not merely announce the new preference and leave. When Shen Tang tries to comfort her, Xie Xuan runs into her arms crying, leaving Shen Tang uncertain where to put her hands. The physical embrace turns an emotional complaint into an immediate demand for care. Xie Xuan then refuses to release her even after Gu Huaian asks politely that she let his wife go. Her refusal makes the rivalry implicit: Gu Huaian claims the position of husband, while Xie Xuan insists on occupying Shen Tang’s immediate emotional and physical space.

The episode remains playful rather than openly hostile. Xie Xuan eventually admits that she is still afraid of Xie Yuan and sneaks away with her bag, promising to return. Her retreat is followed almost immediately by shrill screams outside the house, preserving the relationship’s comic rhythm of dramatic entrance, excessive affection, and abrupt consequences. Shen Tang is not depicted as encouraging a serious romantic exchange; instead, she is repeatedly placed in the position of an unwilling but sympathetic caretaker.

From Personal Attachment to Fan Devotion

Xie Xuan’s attachment soon expands beyond private visits. She joins Shen Tang’s fan club and spends money to become one of its administrators, turning personal admiration into organized support. Shen Tang does not know this at first because she has not been checking her phone closely, which creates a contrast between Xie Xuan’s energetic investment and Shen Tang’s limited awareness of how much devotion is gathering around her.

Xie Xuan also continues appearing at Shen Tang’s door, loudly announcing that she has come to see her. When Gu Huaian objects, Xie Xuan ignores him and pleads to return with Shen Tang. She says that she has only recently come back to the country, has no friends, and is bored alone. The request combines dependence with calculated vulnerability: Xie Xuan presents herself as isolated, and Shen Tang’s maternal instinct makes it difficult for her to refuse. Her response is not a firm invitation but a softened compromise. Because she expects to have little work soon, Shen Tang says that Xie Xuan may come over then and that she can host her and show her around properly.

Tension with the Contractual Household

The relationship unfolds within Shen Tang’s carefully managed arrangement with Gu Huaian. Their marriage agreement requires appearances such as occasional family dinners and the presentation of a loving couple, while allowing Shen Tang to preserve substantial personal independence. Xie Xuan’s behavior disrupts that managed arrangement by entering the domestic space without observing its formal boundaries. Gu Huaian’s request that she let his wife go makes the household hierarchy explicit, but Xie Xuan’s refusal exposes how easily emotional performance can challenge contractual roles.

This contrast is consistent with Shen Tang’s wider public life. Her entertainment company pairs her with male celebrities to exploit scandal, and she maintains a professional smile through hostile livestream comments because publicity and company revenue still have value. At formal banquets she appears beside Gu Huaian as his wife, while in gaming spaces she navigates team hostility and social alliances. Against these calculated performances, Xie Xuan’s attachment is excessive, spontaneous, and difficult to stage-manage. It nevertheless becomes another form of social capital when it turns into fan-club labor and financial support.

Meaning and Development of the Bond

Shen Tang and Xie Xuan’s relationship is built less on mutual confession than on repeated acts of pursuit and accommodation. Xie Xuan pursues through tears, embraces, doorstep visits, pleading, and fan activity; Shen Tang answers through patience, physical tolerance, and a willingness to host her later. Shen Tang’s response remains bounded, but it is not cold. Her inability to harden her heart when Xie Xuan looks pitiful gives the relationship its emotional engine.

The bond therefore operates simultaneously as comedy, rivalry, and care. Xie Xuan’s redirected affection irritates Gu Huaian and temporarily contests his privileged access to Shen Tang, yet it also gives Xie Xuan a place within Shen Tang’s expanding circle of support. For Shen Tang, Xie Xuan becomes another person whose feelings must be handled without cruelty. Their connection transforms an impulsive declaration into a recurring attachment: Xie Xuan claims Shen Tang as “Sister Tang,” the fan club formalizes that loyalty, and Shen Tang responds by making room for her without surrendering control of her own life.
