Flight from the Compound

Flight from the Compound A change of plan Bane takes Adrienne away from the compound and moves through the snow rather than remain where Wilder’s family can find them. Pursuit becomes harder The wilderness conceals their route but also leaves Adrienne exposed to cold, hunger, and physical exhaustion.

The Mountain Cave

The Mountain Cave Captivity in isolation Bane brings Adrienne to a cave, ties her up, and leaves her without reliable food while he hunts. A bear interrupts control A bear enters the cave and threatens Adrienne, forcing Bane to intervene and revealing that he will not simply abandon her to die.

A Truck and a Motel

A Truck and a Motel Movement replaces shelter Bane and Adrienne travel in an unreliable truck, stopping when its condition and Adrienne’s hunger make continued flight impossible. Human infrastructure offers opportunity The hotel gives Adrienne food, a bath, money, and eventually a chance to escape, even though Bane believes he controls the situation.

Wilder Finds the Trail Patient tracking Wilder follows reports of a man and woman traveling together and locates the motel room they have recently left. Evidence distorts judgment The mingled scents make Wilder believe Adrienne has willingly been with Bane, turning the search into a test of whether he can trust her.

The Reunion Turns Cold

The Reunion Turns Cold Rescue without comfort Adrienne runs to Wilder, expecting relief, but he questions her and accuses her of having been claimed by Bane. Conflict travels home He removes her from immediate danger, yet his suspicion creates a new emotional crisis that follows them to the cabin.
