Braith
Last ChristmasBraith is a demon commander whose grief has become a force in the war: she seeks vengeance against those she holds responsible for her beloved’s death and continues to back Azura and Noir. Her authority also reaches Caleb through her son, Monakribos Malachai, placing her near the top of the command chain driving the conflict.
Grief and Vengeance
The account of Braith’s anger is tied to an affair involving her Sephiroth. As punishment, Kissare’s life was demanded; the passage connects this history with the death of Braith’s beloved and the wrath that followed. Her vengeance is directed at those she believes forced that death, rather than confined to a private bereavement.
The short list of people she wants dead includes Caleb’s father, Cam, and Rezar, as well as Caleb’s aunt, Lilith. The stated reason for including Lilith is simply that Braith hates her; the distinction suggests that Braith’s list is shaped both by responsibility for her beloved’s death and by personal animosity.
Allegiance and Command
Braith remains committed to Azura and Noir for as long as she and her son are alive. Her purpose is not merely to support their fighting: she intends to watch the world burn. The text presents this resolve as an engine of escalation, warning that the war will become bloodier than anyone can imagine if Caleb does not take a life in the same manner as the earlier punishment.
Her son, Monakribos Malachai, is identified as the head demon boss. The chain of authority runs from Braith to her son and then to Caleb, who serves as Braith’s primary commander. This structure makes her more than a distant source of hostility: her will reaches the battlefield through a direct line of command.
Role in the Conflict
Braith’s grief and her political position reinforce one another. The death of her beloved explains the intensity of her wrath, while her support for Azura and Noir gives that wrath a continuing place within the war. Caleb’s position under her command makes the conflict personal as well as military: his actions may affect how fiercely Braith pursues a war already driven by revenge.
