Vampires escape the other world through mirrors
Living with 7 vampiresThe escape through the mirror is the decisive logistical and symbolic reversal in which Y/N and the vampires leave the other world and return as a group. What first appears to be an opaque barrier becomes a passage that can be negotiated through experiment, assistance, and the vampires’ ability to transform their bodies.
Discovery of a Workable Route
J-Hope identifies the mirror as the possible means of escape and tells Y/N to try entering headfirst. He hands the mirror to Y/N and suggests beginning with the head, turning a desperate situation into a practical test. Y/N places the mirror over the head, and the head and shoulders pass through before the body is left halfway inside. The attempt demonstrates that the mirror is not merely a surface or an image: it has material depth and can admit a living body.
The passage is not immediately effortless. Y/N cannot see what is happening while the mirror is being moved, and J-Hope has to help. The mirror shifts downward until Y/N is completely inside it. The successful movement transforms uncertainty into a repeatable method, allowing the others to follow rather than leaving Y/N to cross alone.
The Vampires Follow in Animal Forms
The vampires do not enter the mirror in a single ordinary procession. A bunny jumps into the mirror first, establishing the comic but purposeful use of animal transformation as a way through the portal. Jungkook calls to the transformed companion, while V urges the bunny to come closer. The scene makes the vampires’ supernatural bodies function as tools of mobility rather than merely signs of their identity.
The next arrival is deliberately startling: an arm is thrown into the mirror, followed by legs, another arm, and the rest of the body. Y/N reacts with disgust at the sight, but the grotesque fragments also show that the crossing is being completed piece by piece. The mirror accommodates bodies in altered forms and partial appearances, making the passage resemble a dismantling and reassembly of physical identity.
Suga follows as a kitty. After a few seconds, the mirror fades, and V announces that they have made it. The sequence therefore ends not with an individual escape but with the successful transfer of the group. The animal shapes have served their purpose, and the vampires can now return to human form.
Reassembly and Collective Survival
Once the mirror disappears, everybody changes back into human form. The return to human bodies confirms that the transformation was temporary and functional, tied to the crossing rather than a permanent loss of personhood. The group’s survival depends on cooperation: J-Hope proposes and assists with the method, Y/N performs the initial passage, and the others follow through their own altered forms.
The contrast between Y/N’s headfirst entry and the vampires’ animal or fragmented arrivals gives the escape a layered physical logic. Y/N crosses as a human body testing the threshold directly, while the vampires exploit forms that are smaller, more flexible, or otherwise suited to the opening. Their different methods nevertheless converge in the same result: the separation imposed by the other world is overcome through coordinated action.
Narrative Significance
This escape changes the meaning of the mirror within the story. Earlier, the mirror can seize and imprison: a shadow pulls Y/N inside, and the surface feels like water as Y/N enters the mirror world. During the escape, however, the same kind of boundary becomes a route under the characters’ control. The reversal does not erase the mirror’s danger, but it reveals that its power can be challenged through knowledge and collaboration.
The episode also links bodily instability with collective rescue. The characters pass through as animals, fragments, and finally restored humans, yet the group remains recognizable through its relationships and shared objective. Their return is therefore both a spatial escape and a temporary reconstitution of identity. The faded mirror marks the closure of the route after it has delivered them to safety, while the announcement that they have made it gives the crossing its immediate consequence: the vampires and Y/N are no longer trapped on opposite sides of the threshold.
