Pyogenesis
Lords of ChaosPyogenesis is mentioned in a tour account in which a false allegation involving one of its members became part of a wider climate of threats against Cradle of Filth. The band’s role in the episode was as the subject of a rumor, not as an identified participant in the stage incident Dani described.
Tour Incident
Dani, the singer of Cradle of Filth, recalled an incident during the Anathema, At the Gates, and Cradle of Filth tour. A German man associated with a group called the “Satanic Gestapo” climbed onto the stage carrying a knife. Bouncers seized him while Dani was looking away; afterward, the man apologized and said the knife was a prop. Dani also described receiving threats from people across Germany.
Rumor and Correction
The threats were accompanied by a story that a Pyogenesis member’s girlfriend had been abducted and abused. Dani said the band heard this claim from people at a concert, but that it was untrue. The account adds that the band saw the Pyogenesis member, who also rejected it as completely false. Pyogenesis thus enters the narrative through a rumor that helped make the threats seem credible, and through the correction that exposed the story as fabricated.
