Saturday Review
My Father's DragonSaturday Review appears in the book’s back matter as the source of a strong endorsement of My Father’s Dragon: it presents the book’s humor and adventure as complementary strengths, rather than treating it as only a comic tale.
Endorsement
The attributed review calls the book the funniest it had seen “for a month of Sundays,” then adds that it is also an exciting adventure story. The praise thus joins comic effect to narrative excitement, capturing the book as both nonsense and adventure.
Place in the Book
The endorsement is presented as a brief review quotation, with the attribution to Saturday Review following it. In this context, the publication’s role is limited to that appraisal; the book supplies no further information about the review or its publication history.
