American Library Association

The American Library Association is named in the book’s front matter as the organization associated with My Father’s Dragon’s designation as an ALA Notable Book. The mention records a form of recognition for the book, but the supplied material gives no further account of the organization or how the designation was made.

Recognition of My Father’s Dragon

The publication material identifies My Father’s Dragon as both an ALA Notable Book and a Newbery Honor Book. These are presented as distinct honors; the text links the American Library Association specifically to the ALA Notable Book designation and does not explain the selection process or the organization’s role beyond that recognition.

Evidence and Scope

The available evidence names the American Library Association only in this recognition context. It does not describe the organization’s structure, broader activities, or history, so its significance here is limited to its association with the book’s status as an ALA Notable Book.
