A Moving Fortress

A Moving Fortress Luxury and Security Vivisari purchases Lounge passage for herself and Saffra, discovering that the Convoy is less a luxury train than a rolling fortress protected by powerful enchantments. Social Friction Lord Barnaby Caldimore’s family treats the two adventurers as intruders. A confrontation over his son’s unwanted attention toward Saffra establishes the social pressure surrounding the Caldimore name. A Temporary Departure Vivisari leaves the Convoy to recover Saffra’s necklace from Prismarche. The simple errand creates the opening for disaster, despite her belief that the protected train is safe.

The Ghul-Feather Attack

The Ghul-Feather Attack A Titled Threat A level-1200 Ghul-Feather tears the engine car away from the Convoy, disabling the Aether Cannons and stranding hundreds in the Emberblade Fields. A Defensive Opportunity Vivisari’s protective spells make Saffra functionally invulnerable. Jasper Trevane recognizes that the frightened apprentice may be the only person capable of retrieving the Convoy Power Cores. A Crisis of Agency Saffra chooses to act despite the danger and the adults’ objections. The mission forces her to distinguish between reckless self-sacrifice and meaningful responsibility.

The Power Core Recovery

The Power Core Recovery A Run Through Monsters Saffra crosses the battlefield while the Ghul-Feather attacks her. Vivi’s defenses absorb blows that should kill ordinary adventurers, allowing Saffra to reach the engineers. Emergency Procedure The engineers explain how to remove two Convoy Power Cores and place them in the Lounge’s emergency sockets. Saffra completes the task while the monster remains focused on the engine car. Earned Confidence The aether cannons return to operation, giving the stranded passengers a chance to survive. Saffra’s success proves that she can contribute meaningfully even before reaching gold rank.
