Strength Against Physics
Collective Effort
The four men try to turn the boat upright by gripping the hull and timing their movements with the waves. Their athletic power is immense, but the inverted console and lack of leverage defeat them.
They learn that teamwork cannot overcome every physical arrangement.
Acceptance of the Hull
The boat is no longer transportation. It becomes their platform, shelter, and only visible object in the sea.
Life Jacket Retrieval

Supplies Beneath the Hull
Will’s Dives
Will repeatedly dives beneath the overturned boat and retrieves life jackets. Marquis helps locate them, while Nick and Corey wait in the waves.
The task is dangerous because Will must search in darkness, cold water, and shifting current.
Shared Protection
The recovered flotation allows the men to remain together through the night. Will’s labor becomes one of the clearest reasons Nick survives.
Mutual Retrieval

Pulling Each Other Back
Repeated Falls
Nick and Will are repeatedly thrown from the hull by fifteen-foot swells. Each man grabs, lifts, and drags the other back toward the boat.
Their bodies become both restraint and flotation aid.
The Cost of Cooperation
Every rescue spends energy that cannot be replaced by food or water. Still, separation would make survival almost impossible, so cooperation remains their only rational choice.
