Yolanda tries to blast open the Tabese tomb
Ofrenda a la tormentaYolanda tries to blast open the Tabese tomb because she believes her daughter may be inside. The attempt leaves the entrance damaged but still shut, and her determination to get through it brings her into a physical confrontation with Amaia as the storm closes in.
The First Blast and Amaia’s Arrival
Amaia hears blows against the wood and Yolanda’s effortful breathing over the rain on the grave slabs. Rounding the tombs, she sees a flashlight swinging with each kick Yolanda delivers against the crypt door. A small hole from the explosion has left the lock hanging, but the mechanism is jammed between the wood and the wall, keeping the door immovable.
Yolanda wears a plastic cap, her hair pressed to her sweat-soaked forehead. When Amaia tells her to move away from the door, Yolanda insists she must open it: she thinks her daughter is inside. She also admits that she believes she used too little explosive and has more goma-2 in her car, making clear that the first blast was not meant to end her attempt.
Confrontation at the Crypt
Amaia moves behind Yolanda and puts a hand on her shoulder. Yolanda turns furiously and punches her, knocking her against the steps; Amaia draws her weapon. The scene shifts from a desperate effort against a locked door to an immediate threat between the two women.
Markina also has his weapon drawn. As the rain grows heavier and the approaching storm intensifies, Yolanda challenges the possibility that he will shoot her and insists that she will see what is inside regardless. Markina lowers his weapon and wipes rain from his face. His decision allows the confrontation to return to the door, but does not end Yolanda’s attempt to breach it.
The Door Gives Way
Yolanda kicks the wood again. This time it gives way with a crash, and the broken lock falls to the ground. She clears the mechanism’s remains from the door’s path, then reaches into the splintered opening and pulls outward, the wood sinking into her flesh. The evidence ends with her still trying to open the entrance; it does not establish what lies inside or whether she succeeds.
