The Warning Dream

The Warning Dream
A rehearsal of temptation
Eve dreams of a speaking tempter who praises forbidden knowledge and promises elevation. Adam interprets the dream as imagination rather than guilt, preserving her innocence but underestimating the psychological preparation it provides.
Knowledge and vulnerability
The dream introduces the central seduction: ignorance is recast as oppression, while transgression is presented as intellectual freedom. Its images prepare Eve to hear the serpent as confirmation rather than threat.
The Separated Gardeners

The Separated Gardeners
Division proposed
Eve asks to divide the gardening labor, arguing that separate work will make them more efficient. Adam fears that separation will give the enemy an opening, but he finally permits her departure.
Confidence against caution
Eve treats danger as an opportunity to prove virtue, while Adam treats avoidance as wisdom. Their disagreement reveals that freedom can fail not only through appetite but through pride in one's own preparedness.
The Serpent's Eloquence

The Serpent's Eloquence
Flattery as entry
Satan inhabiting the Serpent praises Eve as uniquely godlike and suggests that the whole creation fails to recognize her worth. His strategy is to turn admiration into resentment and superiority into a moral claim.
A counterfeit argument
He invokes the Serpent's apparent transformation after tasting the fruit and treats God's prohibition as evidence of envy. The lie succeeds because it borrows the language of reason while redirecting reason toward distrust.
The Forbidden Taste

The Forbidden Taste
Eve's decision
Eve reaches for the Forbidden fruit after converting the command into proof that knowledge is being withheld. Her act is deliberate, even though the surrounding rhetoric makes it feel like discovery.
A second choice
Adam understands the danger and nevertheless eats because he cannot imagine blessed life without Eve. His decision makes the Fall collective: desire, loyalty, and disobedience become inseparable.
Exile from Eden

Exile from Eden
Judgment and mercy
God sentences the Serpent, Eve, and Adam, but the Son moderates judgment and clothes the fallen pair. Punishment is real, yet the promise of the woman's seed prevents judgment from becoming abandonment.
The world outside
Michael leads Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden as the flaming sword seals the way to the Tree of Life. Their departure begins mortal history, but their handclasp and hope keep exile from being pure despair.
