The Wider Human-Atevi Settlement
PeacemakerGeigi’s appended history places the present crisis within centuries of contact, conflict, and negotiated coexistence between humans and Atevi.

The Foreign Star Appears

The Foreign Star Appears
An omen over a changing world
A strange object appears in the heavens while Atevi society is already building railways and expanding associations beyond older clan boundaries. Number-counters interpret the Foreign Star as an omen, but its immediate effect is uncertainty rather than catastrophe.
Institutions take shape
The railway project creates common interests among regions and guilds. Aijiin are chosen to coordinate the work, while the early Assassins’ Guild protects the agreements that make construction possible.
The history links technological change to political organization. The world is not transformed by contact alone; it is prepared for change by institutions and alliances that already connect people across traditional divisions.
Humans Descend

Humans Descend
Arrival by capsule
Human settlers descend from the orbiting station in fragile capsules and begin making contact with Atevi. Early newcomers are curious, poorly equipped, and dependent on local help and food.
A relationship changes
Later groups arrive armed and resistant to adapting, provoking the War of the Landing. The conflict ends with humans concentrated on Mospheira under the Treaty of the Landing and technological restrictions.
The remembered history contains both generosity and coercion. The treaty brings a long period of peace, but its restrictions leave unresolved questions about power, knowledge, and who has the right to determine the future of the world.
A Shared Station

A Shared Station
Negotiation under suspicion
The return of Phoenix forces Mospheira, the mainland, and the ship’s captains to negotiate over space, shuttles, and the future of the station. Atevi resources and human technical knowledge are both indispensable.
Cooperation under threat
The parties build a shuttle fleet and agree to divide authority over the station. The alliance must then face the evacuation of the Reunion population and the possibility that hostile Kyo may eventually threaten the Earth.
The appended history reframes the current crisis as one part of a much longer negotiation. Human and Atevi cooperation is neither inevitable nor simple, but shared vulnerabilities create reasons to build institutions capable of surviving distrust.
