Tammy Tuttle
Point BlankTammy Tuttle is a dangerous fugitive whose apparent ability to shape other people’s perceptions connects her earlier crimes to Moses Grace’s later escapes from notice. Her career ends at a barn beside Plum River, where Dillon Savich’s sister kills her after Tammy abducts her.
Identity and Abilities
Tammy had a twin, Tommy Tuttle, and the two kidnapped two teenage boys. During that earlier episode, Tammy was about to kill the boys when Savich intervened. He later described her as someone who could make people see what she wanted them to see. Ruth Warnecki, who had heard about Tammy before joining the unit, understood this ability as mass hypnosis; Dixon Noble questioned whether that explanation was plausible.
Crimes and Pursuit
Savich stopped Tammy by shooting her during the attempted killing of the boys. She was taken to a hospital, escaped after recovering, and came after him. Savich recalled that she wanted revenge against him, much as Moses later did. The account establishes the sequence—intervention, hospitalization, escape, and renewed pursuit—without suggesting that Savich killed her in their first confrontation.
Connection to Moses Grace
When Moses claimed Savich had killed the woman connected to him, Savich reconsidered how Moses had managed to go unseen near a motel, a cemetery, and a Denny’s restaurant, despite being nearby. Savich reasoned that Tammy’s perception-manipulating ability could account for Moses’s apparent capacity to make people overlook him, and Lacey Sherlock independently identified Tammy as the person who fit that description. Savich suspected Moses had learned from Tammy, but the evidence presents this as a deduction, not a confirmed account of their history.
Abduction and Death
Tammy later took Savich’s sister from his home and drove her to a barn beside Plum River in Maryland, where Tammy’s earlier story had begun. Savich and Sherlock arrived after the confrontation was over: Savich’s sister had saved herself and killed Tammy. When Dixon Noble asked whether Savich’s sister was all right, Savich assured him that she was.
