Expansionist Rule

Expansionist Rule Imperial Ambition Sven seeks to build the largest kingdom in history and treats villages, dissenters, and Highlanders as obstacles. Repressive Policy His army burns settlements and demands allegiance, making fear the principal instrument of governance. The conquest produces the resistance that eventually turns his own family against his strategy.

Village Destruction

Village Destruction Message Through Violence Sven’s army burns a village important to the Highlander Clan, intending to demonstrate that no refuge is safe. Moral Contrast Carden finds survivors and covers the dead, while Sven’s soldiers treat violence as routine administration. The raid hardens Carden’s resolve and exposes the cruelty beneath Sven’s public authority.

Distraction of the Army

Distraction of the Army Total Mobilization Sven orders every soldier home and sends them into the woods to find Zuzulla. Strategic Failure The response abandons the wider conquest and gives Kigom’s enemies time to organize. Sven remains powerful, but his emotional attachment makes his empire vulnerable.
