Abigail’s Escape

Abigail’s Escape Flight from Abuse Abigail runs from a violent household with no plan beyond reaching the forest. Wilderness Exposure The woods offer freedom but also hunger, darkness, and predatory danger. Her escape removes the old abusers without yet providing a viable future.

Werebear Rescue

Werebear Rescue Apparent Abduction A werebear drives off a wolf and carries Abigail to a cave, leaving her uncertain whether she has been rescued or captured. Misread Identity Malleus’s human form later appears hostile and sarcastic, concealing the creature that protected her. The ambiguity allows trust to develop through observation rather than assumption.

Shared Wilderness

Shared Wilderness Mutual Recognition Abigail learns that Malleus’s violence comes from childhood trauma and fear of becoming like his abuser. Chosen Survival She remains near him despite the danger of the full moon, accepting the werebear as part of the person she loves. Their bond turns the wilderness from exile into a shared home.
