The Hidden Refuge

Flight without a known pursuer
Nighttime defenses
Dominick Corvaisis wakes in closets, behind a furnace, and eventually in a barricaded bedroom surrounded by weapons. He cannot identify the pursuer, but his sleep actions reveal how seriously he fears it.
Failed reassurance
His physician attributes the problem to stress and prescribes medication. Dominick briefly believes he is improving, but dreams and cryptic messages undermine that explanation.
The Moon Message

An unknown correspondent
A clue arrives
An anonymous note advises Dominick Corvaisis to search his past. A second note, simply invoking the moon, confirms that someone knows about a private phrase he has never disclosed.
Rejecting the drugged refuge
With Parker Faine, Dominick decides to retrace the drive that changed his life. He throws away his sedatives and accepts the risk of sleepwalking because a hidden memory now seems more dangerous than uncertainty.
A Memory in the Moon House

A paranormal shock
Lomack’s room
In Zebediah Lomack’s house, Dominick finds his own name and those of other witnesses written on moon pictures. The images tear free and circle him in a display that is both frightening and beautiful.
The first visible gift
When the images attack, Dominick tells them to stop, and the storm obeys. Red rings appear on his palms. He is left with evidence of a power he neither understands nor wants.
Facing the Motel Again

The place returns the fear
The lost evening resurfaces
At the Tranquility Grille, Dominick Corvaisis recalls Ginger Marie Weiss and approaches the blocked memory of the night the event began. A renewed tremor and window implosion reproduce part of that night.
Poison and restraint
In Room 20, a nightmare becomes a clearer recollection: masked workers treat him for poisoning and try to make him vomit. Dominick understands that the dreams are memories under pressure, not arbitrary fantasies.
Choosing to Enter Thunder Hill

Fear gives way to responsibility
An uncertain ability
Dominick uses telekinesis to open the inner door at Thunder Hill. The act proves that he can direct the power more deliberately than before, but it does not make him confident in controlling it.
Love and risk
At the spacecraft, Dominick remembers the alien encounter and acknowledges his love for Ginger Marie Weiss. When nuclear devices threaten the group, he acts to stop them rather than retreat from his unwanted role.
