The Haekos Failure

The Haekos Failure
A Rapid Invasion
Cato assaults Haekos with overwhelming forces, intending to stop the System from expanding into a new civilization. He tries to fight nonlethally and rescue civilians.
The Azoth’s Massacre
Kosch annihilates hundreds of thousands in a continent-wide shadow Skill. Cato answers with a particle beam and kills Kosch, but the exchange proves that restraint cannot guarantee civilian safety.
Strategic Consequence
The Haekos campaign teaches Cato that the System’s high ranks can weaponize populations against him. He begins treating the protection of civilians as an engineering and evacuation problem rather than merely a diplomatic one.
The Forty-World Offensive

The Forty-World Offensive
A Diversion at Scale
Cato attacks roughly forty worlds to draw System reinforcements away from the Gogri portal. The operation demonstrates that he can coordinate independent industrial bases across the frontier.
The Bug Bombs
Big Bad Bug Bombs enter high-rank dungeons and search for anchors while conventional Warframes assault towns and portals. The distributed swarm allows Cato to attack multiple worlds without physically moving one army.
A New Strategic Balance
Cato severs seventeen worlds and secures Gogri’s route, but the campaign alerts the Core to the true scale of his presence. Victory expands his territory while making diplomacy far more difficult.
The Purification Weapon

The Purification Weapon
Counter-Propaganda
Cato distributes leaflets promising food, safety, and choice. The System answers by evacuating and then purifying worlds where his presence has become visible.
Civilian Leverage
The Core turns populations into hostages by making their destruction a punishment aimed at Cato. The strategy attacks his moral identity rather than his weapons.
A New Rescue Method
Cato responds with mass digitization, Chill Out, and The Phage. He begins preserving populations before the purge rather than trying to defeat the purge after it starts.
The Rikel Stalemate

The Rikel Stalemate
Locked Dungeons
The System seals dungeons and places Azoths around the portal, preventing Cato from taking the anchors he needs. Rikel becomes a long-running battle rather than a rapid liberation.
Sustained Attrition
Cato sends millions of tons of materiel while Azoths destroy almost all of it. Both sides use resurrections, defenses, and adaptations to maintain pressure.
The Need for a New Weapon
Cato develops The Phage and further swarm strategies because simple orbital force cannot solve a controlled chokepoint. The stalemate drives him toward the Core assault.
The Stellar Endgame

The Stellar Endgame
A Weapon Beyond the System
Cato’s stellar mirrors focus the output of twenty-four stars onto the Core. The attack is the culmination of decades of industrial preparation and the only weapon he believes can reach the True Core.
The Core’s Retreat
Misse abandons War Worlds and folds Core Worlds into divine estates. She believes reducing the System’s footprint will starve the beam of meaningful targets.
Collapse Instead of Victory
The attack continues through the retreat and forces the True Core to consume itself. The final conflict ends not with surrender but with the System’s physical and metaphysical annihilation.
