Xan's Rejected Courtship of Kazumi and His Insults to Her and Her Child

The Beki CEO Got Me Pregnant

Xan’s relationship with Kazumi Lhynx Valeres moves from declared romantic interest to rejection and verbal abuse. The decisive break comes when Kazumi explains that she is pregnant by Yohan Xyle Laroses: Xan offers to take Yohan’s place as the child’s father, but she refuses, insisting that Yohan has accepted responsibility. When Xan continues pursuing her, his belief that she has misled him gives way to an attack on her and her child.

The Courtship Begins

Xan first presents himself as a suitor through a direct message. He acknowledges that he and Kazumi are not especially close, tells her he finds her beautiful and hardworking, and says he does not want to be too shy to pursue her. Kazumi reacts with excitement and agrees that he may court her. His declaration therefore starts the relationship not as an established romance, but as a new possibility that she initially receives warmly.

The next day, Xan approaches Kazumi at the entrance to the Company with a rose and chocolates. The gesture gives his pursuit a public, tangible form and follows quickly after their exchange of messages. Kazumi thanks him for making the effort. At this point, the courtship is welcomed; the later conflict does not arise because she had initially rejected him, but because her circumstances and stated wishes change, and Xan does not accept her eventual refusal.

Pregnancy and the Rejected Offer

When Kazumi tells Xan she is pregnant, she identifies Yohan as the father. She explains that the pregnancy followed Yohan’s birthday party, where both she and Yohan were extremely drunk and ended up in the same room. She also makes clear why she is telling Xan: she does not want him to keep hoping for a relationship and be hurt later. Her disclosure is an attempt to set expectations plainly, not an invitation for him to take on a romantic or parental role.

Xan responds by questioning how Yohan could have impregnated her if he is gay. He then predicts that Yohan will not accept responsibility and offers to become the child’s father himself. The offer might sound protective in isolation, but it is built on Xan’s assumption that Yohan’s sexuality makes him incapable of taking responsibility. Kazumi is offended by that assumption. She rejects Xan’s proposed role, names Yohan as the father, and tells Xan that Yohan has already accepted responsibility. She again asks him to stop pursuing her rather than allowing him to mistake kindness for encouragement.

Persistence and Escalation

The refusal does not end Xan’s pursuit. Later, he confronts Kazumi after discovering that she and Yohan live in the same house. Xan says he had often seen her going home with Yohan and had assumed Yohan was merely giving her a ride; he then followed their car and saw them enter Yohan’s home. The discovery prompts him to accuse Kazumi of having led him on and made a fool of him, even though she had already told him she was pregnant by Yohan and asked him to stop courting her.

Kazumi answers that she never told him she lived with Yohan and reminds him that she had previously made her pregnancy and rejection clear. She says she has been distancing herself while Xan continued to press her. Her response draws a distinction he refuses to accept: she is not responsible for the hopes he maintains after she has directly told him not to pursue her. His anger treats her private living arrangement as evidence against her, rather than acknowledging the boundary she had already communicated.

Xan’s final outburst turns rejection into cruelty. He claims Kazumi’s personality changed after becoming pregnant by a gay man, wishes that her baby would die, and calls both her and Yohan a burden on society. The insult targets the pregnancy itself and uses Yohan’s sexuality to demean the family Kazumi has chosen to recognize. Kazumi registers the attack as crossing a serious line; the conflict is no longer a disappointed suitor’s complaint but a direct verbal assault on her and her unborn child.

Meaning and Limits of the Relationship

Xan’s arc with Kazumi is defined by the gap between his initial presentation as a considerate suitor and his later entitlement to her attention. He begins by praising her appearance and diligence and making a direct request to court her. Once she refuses, however, he recasts her earlier warmth as a promise she never made, disregards her repeated explanations, and treats her pregnancy as grounds to replace Yohan rather than as a boundary she has asked him to respect.

The conflict also exposes the difference between Xan’s assumptions and Kazumi’s account of Yohan. Xan equates Yohan’s gay identity with an inability to father or care for a child; Kazumi insists that Yohan is the father and has accepted responsibility. Her later marriage to Yohan and the birth of their child further establish the family life that Xan’s offer and insults attempted to displace. The available scenes do not show Xan learning of those later events or reconciling with Kazumi. His relationship with her remains marked by rejected courtship, a violated boundary, and the harm of his words.
