The Fallen Fort

The Fallen Fort
Fort Stone burns and falls before Viviane Saint-Lys reaches the frontier. The disaster alerts Cernit’s patrol that a necromancer or powerful undead force is moving through the Deadlands.
Evidence In Smoke
The prolonged fire suggests a caster of moderate rather than overwhelming power. Yet the loss proves that even a small necromantic campaign can erase an isolated garrison.
A Threat With Momentum
The fall of Fort Stone turns Fort Sky from a remote posting into the next likely target. The defenders have time to prepare, but no certainty that preparation can overcome the enemy.
The First Cleansing

The First Cleansing
Viviane Saint-Lys joins Cernit, Benetti, and Jor in preemptive strikes against special undead near abandoned villages. Their objective is to deny the necromancer powerful creatures that could serve as siege weapons.
Hunting Assets
Gut spillers, Crawlers, and other creatures are easier to kill before they are controlled. The operation transforms the open Deadlands into a battlefield where mobility matters more than numbers.
The Cost Of Casting
Viviane’s Yoink spell is decisive but mentally exhausting. Every victory increases her power while pushing her toward overcasting and Mana poisoning.
The Bridge Ambush

The Bridge Ambush
At a ruined bridge, the defenders realize that the Revenants have been coordinated by an unseen necromancer. A Defiled centipede reveals that the enemy has begun using intelligence rather than simple mass movement.
Control As Vulnerability
Viviane Saint-Lys discovers that draining a controlled undead can disrupt the caster’s presence inside it. This gives her a way to attack the necromancer indirectly.
The Enemy Withdraws
The necromancer abandons creatures and retreats with a smaller group of elites. The encounter shifts the conflict from extermination to pursuit, making the enemy’s identity and motives central questions.
The First Necromancer

The First Necromancer
Viviane Saint-Lys confronts the young necromancer controlling the village’s undead. He is a frightened teenager rather than a monstrous elder, but he has already chosen to weaponize the dead.
A Human Target
The revelation complicates the act of killing. Viviane still attacks because hesitation would allow the necromancer to destroy her companions, but the face of the enemy remains with her.
An Unfinished Victory
Solfis later estimates that this caster was probably not responsible for Fort Stone’s fall. The apparent victory therefore removes one danger without resolving the larger campaign.
The Father’s Revenge

The Father’s Revenge
A powerful necromancer arrives at Fort Sky and reveals that Viviane Saint-Lys killed his son. He offers the defenders freedom if they will betray her, then abandons personal grief for open warfare.
Moral Pressure
The necromancer’s confession makes the conflict intimate without making his cause just. He recognizes his own crimes but refuses to stop because stopping would make his sacrifices meaningless.
The Last Fort
He declares Fort Sky the final obstacle in his campaign. The siege therefore becomes both a military operation and a confrontation between grief-driven necessity and collective defense.
The Converging Horde

The Converging Horde
A second necromancer’s army merges with the first, bringing Puppeteers, Crawlers, Gut spillers, birds, and countless Revenants against Fort Sky. The defenders lose their advantage in numbers and time.
From Tactics To Mass
The enemy no longer relies on subtle control. It uses bodies as ramps, shields, ladders, and expendable platforms, turning the fort’s approach into a living siege engine.
The Final Escalation
Viviane Saint-Lys must invent increasingly broad spells while the soldiers hold shrinking positions. The conflict reaches its peak when survival depends on something beyond ordinary training.
