Paslode nail gun
The Hanging GirlThe Paslode nail gun is a weapon associated with a series of killings and attacks in the Netherlands and Denmark. Once police came into possession of the weapon, it became a concrete link between crimes that had occurred in different places, including the 2007 attack on Anker Høyer, Hardy Henningsen, and Carl Mørck.
Identification and Specifications
The weapon is identified as a Paslode nail gun used with 90-millimeter nails. The account of two men killed in a car repair shop in Schiedam, Netherlands, specifies that they were shot with 90-millimeter Paslode nails. Cocaine was also found in their mouths; it was described as exceptionally poor in quality.
Association with the 2007 Amager Crimes
At a press meeting, Terje Ploug explained that the murder of Anker Høyer, the permanent physical damage to Hardy Henningsen, and the shooting of Carl Mørck had all occurred on January 26, 2007, and that all three crimes were committed with the same weapon. The weapon was then in police possession. Hardy could not attend the meeting because he remained seriously affected by the episode.
Cross-Case Significance
Lars Bjørn stated that police believed the nail-gun murders in Schiedam, the crimes on Amager, and the killings in Sorø were likely connected after all. The earlier Schiedam victims included a younger man who was the nephew of the man found murdered on Amager by Carl Mørck, Anker Høyer, and Hardy Henningsen. The gun therefore matters not only as the instrument used in the Amager crimes, but as a physical clue supporting an investigation that crosses national and local boundaries.
