Kaja
The Leopard (Jo Nesbø Edition)Kaja’s role in this passage is indirect but consequential: Harry Hole suspects she helped someone locate him after two letters arrive at the reception where he is staying. The scene suggests a possible channel back to his former life without establishing what Kaja did or whether his suspicion is correct.
An Unconfirmed Link
Harry finds two letters waiting for him at reception and cannot work out how their senders found him. He suspects Kaja must have had something to do with it, but the passage gives no evidence of her actions or of any message between them. Her involvement remains Harry’s inference, not a confirmed fact.
The Letters and Their Senders
One envelope bears the logo of the Oslo police, leading Harry to guess that it came from Gunnar Hagen. He recognizes the handwriting on the other letter immediately as Oleg’s. He puts both letters in his jacket pocket without deciding whether, or when, to read them. Kaja is thus associated with the unexplained route by which the letters reached him, while the scene leaves her precise connection to either sender unresolved.
