Rabbit

The Rabbit is one of the many creatures turned to stone by the White Witch and kept as a statue in the courtyard of her castle. It is among the first statues Aslan restores to life after his own resurrection, when he breathes on the stone lion and then rapidly moves through the courtyard reviving creature after creature. The Rabbit, once living, is then loaded onto the back of the other lion—the one who had been a statue himself moments before—along with three dwarfs, one Dryad, two rabbits, and a hedgehog, to be carried into the final battle against the Witch's army. The Rabbit thus serves as a small but concrete sign of the Witch's defeated power and of Aslan's restorative magic, participating in the liberation and the war that follows. Its brief appearance underscores the thoroughness of the Witch's petrification and the completeness of Aslan's reversal of her work, as even the smallest and most ordinary of woodland creatures is freed and given a role in the victory.
