A Planned Message

A Planned Message
Preparing for an unknowable reader
As warnings accumulate, Myfanwy writes letters for the person who may awaken in her body. She cannot predict the details of the future, so she gives practical instructions, background, and choices rather than a single rigid plan.
The letters are placed in coats and stored materials to improve the odds that they survive. Their form turns preparation into a conversation across a break in identity.
The First Instructions

The First Instructions
Survival before explanation
The first letter identifies the body, warns about a fatal bee-sting allergy, and directs its reader toward a safe hotel and an alternate identity. Its author assumes that the future reader will face immediate danger.
The note does not restore memory; it substitutes carefully chosen knowledge for memory. The successor can protect herself before she understands why anyone wants her dead.
The Choice Letter

The Choice Letter
Two futures in one envelope
The next letter admits that the former Myfanwy does not know exactly when the attack will happen, only that it is coming. She offers an escape route as well as a route back into the Checquy.
The successor reads the proposal skeptically and first circles the option to leave. The letter’s restraint matters: it does not demand loyalty but allows the new person to make a decision for herself.
The Binder’s Education

The Binder’s Education
An institution in fragments
The Purple Binder describes the Checquy’s history, hierarchy, procedures, personnel, and strange responsibilities. Its dense information gives the successor a working map, even as she encounters people and events no document can make ordinary.
She uses it as a practical tool rather than a complete substitute for experience. Every meeting and manifestation tests what she has read against the living institution.
The Last Letter’s Hope

The Last Letter’s Hope
Care without control
In her final letter, the former Myfanwy accepts that she may not prevent her own erasure. She nevertheless hopes that the future reader will have the freedom to choose a life beyond the one prepared for her.
She calls the unknown successor family, while acknowledging that the successor may take another name and never think of her. The ending frames the letters as an act of care that does not claim ownership.
