Love at First Sight

Love at First Sight
A challenge after survival
After recovering from a mysterious, near-fatal illness, Gibreel meets Alleluia in a hotel dining room while publicly eating forbidden pork to test his lost faith. She tells him that being alive is the point and challenges him to change his life. Her bluntness reaches him at a moment when he is ready to abandon his former existence.
An immediate attachment
Gibreel falls in love quickly, and the two spend several days together in an intense, private encounter. Their first kiss seems charged with an almost physical spark, an experience each reads as evidence that their connection is extraordinary. For Gibreel, Alleluia becomes the reason to leave his old life and cross the world.
The beginning is sincere, but it is also built on rapid invention. Each sees in the other a possible answer to private longings: Gibreel finds a reason for rebirth, while Alleluia encounters a lover who seems able to know and answer her inward desires.
A Reunion in the Snow

A Reunion in the Snow
A lover thought lost
Alleluia hears that Gibreel has died in the Bostan disaster and grieves the loss of a man who had already transformed her sense of possibility. She questions his presumption in imagining that she would simply accept a shared future, but her love survives those doubts. His unexpected appearance alive in the snow brings joy together with the resentment she had begun to suppress.
Making room for a stranger
Alleluia takes Gibreel into her home and trusts his account of falling from the sky. His return seems miraculous, yet she recognizes that he is troubled and that his sleep is haunted by recurring visions. Their intimacy resumes with extraordinary intensity, while each keeps parts of the frightening experience from the other.
The reunion restores a relationship neither had been able to finish grieving. It does not restore their former simplicity: they are now bound together by love, secrecy, and the possibility that Gibreel’s dreams are crossing into the world around them.
Passion and Possessiveness

Passion and Possessiveness
A powerful intimacy
Gibreel and Alleluia experience an unusually intense sexual connection, one that makes each feel known and transformed. Alleluia tells him that she can read his thoughts; Gibreel’s attentiveness seems to answer longings she has found difficult to express. Their relationship becomes a private world of desire, in which ordinary boundaries and routines seem less important.
The first fracture
Gibreel’s jealousy emerges when he sees cartoons that an older admirer has given Alleluia. He treats the harmless gifts as evidence of betrayal and interrogates her with a fury that surprises her. Alleluia orders him out, and he leaves expecting her to calm him, only to encounter a separation he cannot control.
Their passion does not protect them from mistrust. The very intensity that makes them feel uniquely joined also magnifies fear: Alleluia fears losing herself in love, while Gibreel begins to treat her independence as a threat to his possession of her.
The Break and Return

The Break and Return
Separation under pressure
After a later quarrel, Gibreel claims to see God and leaves Alleluia, convinced that he must choose divine service over love. His departure is shaped by his deteriorating mental state, but it is also a real abandonment. Alleluia is left to manage her own fears and the painful sense that Gibreel’s commitment to her can disappear without warning.
Care becomes a burden
Gibreel returns to Alleluia in a distressed condition, and she commits herself to his care, including psychiatric treatment. For a time, his medication seems to help him distinguish dreams from waking life. Alleluia hopes that supporting his recovery will allow their relationship to continue, but the demands of nursing and emotional vigilance weigh heavily on her.
Their reunion is therefore both loving and unequal. Alleluia becomes his caretaker and protector, while Gibreel relies on her and struggles to face the possibility that the angelic visions may return. The relationship persists, but it is no longer sustained by passion alone.
Jealousy and the Final Rupture

Jealousy and the Final Rupture
A fragile recovery under strain
Gibreel’s return to filmmaking brings fame, schedules, and new people into his life, while Alleluia worries that he is slipping back into a world that does not make room for her. His suspicion intensifies as they spend time apart. He interrogates her and monitors her movements, turning the love she has tried to protect into a source of exhaustion.
The last betrayal
After Alleluia discovers that Gibreel has had her followed, she leaves without saying goodbye. He responds by immersing himself in work rather than asking her to return. Later, a series of anonymous calls feeds his jealousy with invented sexual messages, until he becomes convinced that Alleluia has betrayed him and abandons her again.
The calls exploit the couple’s weaknesses but do not create them from nothing. Gibreel’s possessiveness and illness combine with his reliance on imagined certainty, while Alleluia’s patience has been worn down by years of caretaking. His final departure destroys the relationship she had repeatedly tried to preserve.
