The Attack in G2

A Death Sentence Inside
A sudden assault
Hoffmann is attacked in his unit after prisoners learn that he is a snitch. He escapes the immediate danger by demanding protection and forcing his way into solitary confinement.
The attack confirms that information has reached the inmates despite the operation’s secrecy. Hoffmann’s planned market takeover is abruptly replaced by a fight to remain alive.
No reliable rescue
He tries to call Erik Wilson and Fredrik Göransson, but receives no effective assistance. One official denies knowing him, while the other leaves him without a rescue plan.
The silence turns an administrative safeguard into another form of abandonment. Hoffmann is isolated among people who have been told to kill him.
The Order Back to G2

Institutional Betrayal
An improper transfer
General Director Pål Larsen orders Lennart Oscarsson to send Hoffmann back to the unit where he was threatened. Oscarsson recognizes that this violates the rule protecting threatened prisoners.
Martin Jacobson refuses to carry out the order, but Oscarsson eventually tells Hoffmann that he is being returned. The order makes the danger explicit rather than accidental.
A forced choice
Hoffmann understands that voluntary isolation is not enough to keep him safe. He attacks Oscarsson so that officials will place him in enforced solitary confinement.
The assault is criminal, but it is also a desperate attempt to reach a more secure cell. The prison’s protection procedures become a maze that Hoffmann must manipulate to survive.
A Miniature Gun

A Hidden Arsenal
Contraband assembled
In solitary confinement, Hoffmann dismantles modified books containing a miniature revolver, explosives, a detonator, and listening equipment. He has prepared each object as a contingency for the moment his cover collapses.
The materials are small enough to evade an ordinary search, yet dangerous enough to give him leverage against prison staff.
Choosing the workshop
Hoffmann leaves isolation, takes hostages, and moves the confrontation to the workshop he studied before entering prison. He positions himself where a distant sniper can see him.
His careful preparation suggests that this is not simply an impulsive riot. He is creating a controlled crisis in which he can delay an execution and communicate with someone beyond the prison walls.
Grens Orders the Shot

A Lethal Decision
The standoff
The National Task Force surrounds the prison, but the reinforced workshop window and hostage positions make an assault dangerous. Grens becomes gold commander and requests a marksman able to reach the target from Aspsås Church.
A temporary police appointment allows a military marksman to take part. The authorities have created a legal workaround, but Grens still bears responsibility for ordering the shot.
The final command
Hoffmann appears in the window, and the marksman reports that the available weapon can only deliver a lethal hit. Grens gives the order twice as Hoffmann moves, then gives it a third time when he remains in view.
The bullet strikes, followed by an explosion and fire. Grens believes he has ordered the death of a dangerous hostage taker, without knowing that Hoffmann has built the scene to hide his escape.
A Death That Wasn’t

Out Through the Wall
Beneath the smoke
Hoffmann survives the blast by sheltering behind a concrete pillar and using the explosion to conceal his movements. He escapes through the damaged workshop and enters the prison ventilation system.
He remains hidden in a pipe for days, enduring darkness, heat, pain, and thirst while searchers believe he has been killed.
A changed face
Hoffmann cuts his hair, shaves, washes, and changes into Jacobson’s prison uniform. He walks out with temporary wardens who do not know his identity.
The escape completes the deception of the apparent shooting. Grens will later discover the truth through footage, but by then Hoffmann has disappeared beyond the prison gate.
