The Quest Behind Them

The Quest Behind Them A Recent Mission Elena's friends have returned from the Quest to Find the Lion King's Sword, an adventure that remains close enough to dominate their memories. Its danger had already brought Lucian's family into conflict with Elena's relationship. Aftermath Rather Than Closure The summer begins after the mission, but its consequences persist in injuries, public narratives, and strained loyalties. The group cannot simply resume ordinary life as if the quest had changed nothing.

Goran's Attack

Goran's Attack A Violent Memory Elena remembers Goran thrusting a blade into her during the earlier crisis. The image remains part of her fear even while she tries to enjoy the present. Blake's Intervention Blake rescued her at great risk to himself. That act creates a debt and a contradiction that complicate Elena's efforts to regard him only as hostile.

Arianna's Version

Arianna's Version Credit Reassigned The newspaper says Arianna insisted on joining the mission and saved Elena, presenting the princess as the reason the group survived. Elena believes this account reverses what happened. Conflict Renewed The reporting turns the mission into a public argument over heroism and status. Elena's anger is sharpened by the claim that Arianna saved her when Elena remembers Arianna as helpless.
