From Cave to Road

The First Journey
A hidden supply point
Mowry leaves the cave with a Sirian-made case and crosses twenty miles of forest. The remote cache protects his weapons and equipment but makes every visit arduous.
Entering ordinary life
At the roadside, he adopts a bow-legged gait and presents himself as a government surveyor. A ride into the city tests whether his accent and appearance hold up.
Shir Agavan’s Papers

A Cover Under Inspection
Testing the documents
Mowry worries that his identity card may be outdated, so he questions a policeman before checking into a hotel. The officer accepts the document and unknowingly validates the disguise.
A temporary refuge
The hotel is useful for one night but risks routine official inspection. Mowry soon changes his lodging and begins treating cover identities as disposable tools.
The Reporter’s Escape

A New Name, A New Risk
Abandoning one identity
A street search convinces Mowry that Shir Agavan may be compromised. He burns those papers and becomes Krag Wulkin, a correspondent whose background requires a slower verification.
A dangerous credential
The journalistic cover supports his accent and movement, but it cannot withstand every inquiry. Each new identity buys time rather than security.
Colonel Halopti

Authority as Camouflage
A high-ranking persona
Mowry transforms himself into Colonel Krasna Halopti, using a convincing uniformed appearance and military papers. Sirian deference allows him to pass through a roadblock.
Success with a deadline
The false rank works because the young lieutenant obeys rather than investigates. Once authorities connect Halopti to the man they seek, the disguise becomes dangerous to reuse.
The Civilian Bureaucrat

A Quiet Maritime Official
Changing outward appearance
Mowry adopts the manner and costume of an elderly maritime bureaucrat. The role gives him plausible access to dock schedules and ships.
A limited advantage
His papers open gates without attracting questions, but a stolen police car and pursuing officers eventually force another escape. Each successful persona depends on context.
