Instrument of Kanus Professional Violence Major Par Odal serves Chancellor Kanus as a soldier whose skill in the Dueling machine creates political victories. He treats opponents as assignments rather than people. His amplified telepathy allows him to multiply his presence and exploit the machine’s shared dream. The method transforms psychological advantage into apparent invincibility. The Cost of Obedience Odal believes duty excuses cruelty. Yet the discipline that makes him useful also prevents him from imagining a life outside command.

Experimental Prisoner The Weapon Turned Inward After failing to kill Hector H. Hector, Odal is placed under Kor’s control and subjected to psychonic experiments. The machine becomes a torture chamber for the talent it once magnified. He is forced to relive pain while interrogators seek the source of his abilities. His former status as a celebrated warrior offers no protection. Recognition of Power Odal learns that the regime values his brain more than his loyalty. The discovery makes obedience impossible to sustain.
Uncertain RedemptionUncertain Redemption from "Watchmen". Uncertain Redemption Choosing Against Kanus Odal joins Hector H.
Uncertain Redemption Choosing Against Kanus Odal joins Hector H. Hector in seizing the Kerak Ministry of Intelligence and helping Romis overthrow Chancellor Kanus. He acts partly to survive, but also to prevent the teleportation weapon from serving dictatorship. His decision is not presented as pure repentance. He remains shaped by violence, discipline, and fear. A New Duty Romis teaches him the arts of government. Odal becomes a possible instrument of lawful reconstruction, carrying the burden of what he did while attempting to build something different.
