The Grail Appears

A Different Kind of Adventure
A veiled presence
The Holy Grail enters the hall unseen, yet fills it with fragrance and food suited to each knight. Its brief appearance interrupts the familiar cycle of feasts and tournaments.
A new standard
The marvel demands more than skill at arms. The Round Table’s members must now confront spiritual tests that worldly prowess cannot settle.
Galahad Takes the Seat

The Empty Seat Is Filled
A promised knight
A damsel brings Galahad to Arthur’s court, where the Siege Perilous has remained vacant. His arrival fulfills a prophecy that ordinary rank and reputation could not satisfy.
The sword confirms him
Galahad draws the sword from the floating stone and occupies the perilous seat. His certainty unsettles the fellowship: the quest will test who is worthy, not merely who is strongest.
The Fellowship Divides

Knights Depart from Camelot
A collective vow
At the Grail’s command, the knights promise to seek it. The departure that follows is full of grief, because the king and court understand that this adventure will scatter their accustomed fellowship.
Different qualifications
Some knights mistake confidence for holiness; others learn through failure, confession, and restraint. The quest divides those who can endure its inward demands from those who cannot.
The Maimed King Healed

A Wound Reaches Its End
An old injury
The wound caused by Sir Balin’s Dolorous Stroke has left King Pellam suffering and his realm desolate. The quest repeatedly circles back to this injury, making it a lasting consequence of earlier violence.
Healing through the Grail
Galahad uses the sacred spear’s blood to heal the king. The recovery links spiritual achievement to a political land’s renewal, without erasing the cost that preceded it.
Galahad’s Departure

The Highest Achievement
A sacred vision
Galahad, Sir Percivale, and Sir Bors reach the Grail’s final mystery. Galahad’s spiritual completion exceeds the courtly honors that once defined the fellowship.
A fellowship diminished
Galahad and Sir Percivale die after the quest, while Sir Bors returns alone. Their departure leaves Camelot with fewer knights and no way to restore the fellowship’s earlier wholeness.
