Cor

The Last Battle

Cor is the King of Archenland who appears in the final gathering in Aslan’s country. His brief appearance places him among the story’s reunited rulers and companions: he comes with his father, King Lune, his wife, Queen Aravis, and his brother, Corin Thunder-Fist, as past ties and generations meet again.

Identity and Reunion

When the newcomers are greeted in the garden, Cor approaches from another direction with the Archenland party. The narration identifies him as King of Archenland and names Lune as his father. Beside them are Queen Aravis, Cor’s wife, and Corin Thunder-Fist, his brother; Bree the Horse and Hwin the Mare are also with the group.

Place in the Final Gathering

Cor’s arrival is part of a gathering that draws together figures from across the histories of Narnia and its neighboring lands. The company’s greetings, embraces, handshakes, and revived old jokes turn the reunion into a meeting of generations and former companions. Cor is presented not in isolation but within this connected royal family and fellowship.

Narrative Significance

The account gives Cor no separate speech or action beyond his appearance with the Archenland party. His presence nevertheless contributes to the closing vision of restored community: the king, his father, wife, and brother are together among the assembled figures in Aslan’s country, where the past is gathered into a larger fellowship.
