Sounders Raid Feit's Office and Escape Custody
StrikeSounders Raid Feit's Office and Escape Custody is the coordinated rescue and breakout that reverses Tucker Pierce's group's immediate captivity. Two soldiers who appear to belong to the Retro forces reveal themselves as Sounders, and Olivia Kinsey and Kent Berringer join the revolt from the adjoining room. In a rapid sequence, the group frees itself, captures Major Bova, incapacitates Feit, and moves through the building before a larger force can close in. Their escape turns on surprise and coordination, but the Sounders make clear that they are not yet strong enough to risk a full battle.
The Break in Feit's Office
The breakout begins while Tucker Pierce and Tori Sleeper are under Feit's control. The adjoining room contains an execution chair, and two more Retro soldiers enter heading in that direction. Olivia and Kent arrive with them, while Feit responds to Tori's demand to stop by directing his attention to the Sounders. Tucker is uncertain what to do, but Olivia and the Sounders already have a plan in motion.
The soldiers push Kent and Olivia toward Major Bova. Once released, the pair of apparent Retro soldiers turn toward Tucker's group and place their hands over their hearts, signaling that they are Sounders. Tucker looks to Tori, who answers with a quick nod. Their silent exchange marks the shift from waiting under guard to acting together: the prisoners recognize that the apparent reinforcements are allies, and the uprising begins before the guards can respond.
A Coordinated Reversal
Tucker attacks the guard behind him, forcing the soldier backward into a wall as he reaches for the guard's pulser. At the same time, Tori lunges at Feit, who has raised his communicator, and drives him back over the desk before he can use it to raise an alarm. The simultaneous attacks prevent the two men from coordinating a response and open the way for the struggle in the next room.
There, the balance has shifted sharply. Major Bova and two Retro guards face two Sounders, Olivia, and Kent. The Sounders fire on the guards: one falls, while the other is knocked into the room's white light and disappears. Bova tries to flee through the door, but Kent tackles him, stopping his escape. The scene's reversal is practical rather than ceremonial: the group's advantage comes from an unexpected alliance and the speed with which it acts.
Olivia takes the pulser from the fallen guard and fires at the invisible wall separating the rooms. The barrier breaks, and its shattered surface falls away, ending the division that had separated Tucker and Tori from the fight around Bova. Feit pushes Tori aside and runs for the door, but Olivia adjusts the pulser's power and fires at him, knocking him down against the map of the new world. While Tucker is still struggling with his guard, Olivia uses the weapon to incapacitate that soldier as well.
Captives Become Prisoners
In roughly ten seconds, the situation has changed from the group being at the mercy of its captors to having two high-ranking opponents under its control. Feit is unconscious, and Bova has been seized. When Feit asks how the Sounders could have accomplished this, Olivia answers by telling him that the resistance is widespread and is coming for him. The claim gives the office assault a meaning beyond an isolated rescue: the soldiers who appeared to serve the Retro forces were part of a larger resistance network.
The escape does not depend on keeping every opponent in the room. The Sounders leave Feit unconscious in the office, judging him unnecessary to carry, while a second Sounder pushes Bova along. Tucker, Tori, Kent, and Olivia follow; Olivia is last to leave, with her pulser ready. This division of roles keeps the group moving while preserving control of its remaining prisoner. It also distinguishes the two captured men: Bova is taken along, while Feit is left behind, incapacitated.
Flight Through the Building
In the corridor, the escaping group meets several surprised Retro soldiers, none of them armed. The lead Sounder tells them to stay calm and stand back; the soldiers move aside, clearing a path rather than challenging the group. The moment extends the office reversal into the building's shared spaces, but it does not establish that every Retro soldier has joined the Sounders. Olivia explains that many soldiers are on the resistance's side, while the Sounders remain outnumbered and do not yet want a full-scale battle.
The Sounders know which doors lead to the stairs and direct the group down them at speed. Bova is dragged along, and the others follow without pausing to make a more elaborate plan. When Kent asks whether they have one, Olivia describes their course as partly planned and partly improvised. The lead Sounder identifies speed as their best protection and warns that the building could soon be swarmed. The breakout therefore ends not in secure freedom but in urgent flight: the group has escaped Feit's immediate control, yet must keep moving to avoid being surrounded.
The scene's decisive change is from helplessness to temporary agency. Surprise lets the Sounders turn apparent Retro reinforcements into allies, while Olivia's use of the pulser removes both the physical barrier between the rooms and the threat posed by Feit. But the retreat downstairs preserves the limit of that success. The resistance has proved its reach and rescued the captives without winning a pitched engagement; its next priority is to escape before its numerical disadvantage becomes decisive.
