BlondeMiltown is a sedative in the novel’s account of Marilyn’s effort to manage distress and medication effects. It appears first as part of the subdued atmosphere surrounding her belated discovery of her performance in Bus Stop, then in a more alarming combination of drugs before a fall on set.
